Anthropic Unveils Claude 4 Models

Anthropic has released its next-generation AI models, Claude Opus 4 and Sonnet 4, showcasing major improvements in step-by-step reasoning and autonomous coding using external tools.

Here’s what’s new:

  • The models offer "hybrid" modes that toggle between fast responses and deeper, more deliberate thinking, with clear reasoning summaries to show their thought process.

  • Opus 4 scored 72.5% on the SWE-bench and can sustain autonomous coding for extended periods. Sonnet 4 replaces version 3.7 with significant upgrades.

  • New features include the ability to use multiple tools simultaneously, maintain context across tasks with memory, and integrate directly into IDEs through Claude Code extensions.

  • Security has been strengthened to ASL-3 standards, including measures to prevent misuse in areas like weapons development.

Apple Races to Launch AI Smart Glasses by 2026

Apple is fast-tracking development of its AI-powered smart glasses, aiming for a late 2026 launch to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, according to Bloomberg.

Key points:

  • The glasses will feature cameras, microphones, and speakers, enabling real-time Siri-powered tasks like calls, music, navigation, and live translation.

  • Prototype production is expected by the end of this year, with sources noting the design will be higher quality than Meta’s, though similar in concept.

  • Internally, there are concerns that Apple’s reliance on external AI—like Google Lens and OpenAI—could weaken the product’s potential.

  • Originally set for 2027, the project timeline has been moved up, while Apple has reportedly halted development of camera-equipped Apple Watches.

Microsoft Launches Low-Code Tool to Fine-Tune Copilot with Internal Data

Microsoft has introduced Microsoft 365 Copilot Tuning, a low-code feature in Copilot Studio that lets organizations customize AI models using their own internal data, workflows, and expertise—without needing technical skills.

Here’s what it offers:

  • Businesses can fine-tune AI on their proprietary documents, processes, and knowledge to build tailored agents using the Agent Builder tool.

  • The platform enables creation of domain-specific AI that aligns with company language, formats, and specialized tasks.

  • Copilot Tuning will launch with three ready-to-use templates focused on Expert Q&A, Document Generation, and Document Summarization.
